Q:
What is an abacus? Is it a technique or something else?
A:
An Abacus is an instrument which was used in past for calculations. Even today, we give similar type of toy thing (beads arranged on the metallic or plastic rods, fixed in a frame) to our children for learning counting. Modern researches have shown that Abacus is very useful in balanced brain development.
Q: What is Right Brain or Left Brain?
A:
Human brain has two hemisphere (halves) which work differently and develop the skills and personality of the person according to their dominance.
Q: How can Abacus help my child?
A:
Recent studies have shown that the abacus method of mental calculation is effective in the development of the right brain.
Q: My child was very creative before he was admitted to the school. Now that creativity and tendency of asking innocent questions is gradually decreasing.
A:
Experiments show that most children rank highly creative ( right brain) before entering school. Because our educational systems place a higher value on left brain skills such as logic and language than it does on drawing or using our imagination, only ten percent of these same children will rank highly creative by age 7. By the time we are adults, high creativity remains in only 2 percent of the population.
